A Brief Guide to Helsinki, Finland

In December 2022, I used the “Greek Island Trick” described in the book Take More Vacations by Scott Keys to go to Riga, Latvia.

Basically, the Greek Island trick is, if you want to go to Europe, book the cheapest flight to get you across the ocean, then take a budget airline or train to your final destination.

My cheap flight landed me in Helsinki, Finland

I knew a bit about Finland from these books,

And one of my favorite books on travel: The  Hidden Europe
